Quincy Jones wins lifetime achievement North Sea Jazz
Quincy Jones, the oeuvre of the North Sea Jazz Festival won. The American comes next month to the Netherlands to the Paul Acket Award to receive. This award is named after the founder of the festival and awarded each year.
The 77-year-old artist does not occur, but gives a radio interview in which the public may be present. That made the organization of the North Sea Jazz Wednesday.
Jones is more than sixty years in the music business and worked as a composer, producer, musician, arranger and bandleader. He is best known as producer of “Thriller” by Michael Jackson, the best-selling album of all time.
The festival will start July 9 and lasts three days. Stevie Wonder is one of the artists who will perform. Even Herbie Hancock, Katie Melua and Elvis Costello & the Sugar Canes make their appearance on stage.
