Olly Murs : Please Do not Let Me Go
If the name Olly Murs there sounds no bell, you are fully justified: the new British proposal, which thanks to its clean face and his gesture would surely have found accommodation in a boy band of the 90′s, comes from the “cantera” X-Factor UK version, last December.
While much followed the new season of the talent show is nearly upon us, the Essex boy (but with a surname that reveals Eastern European origin) tries to strike while the iron is hot, trying to climb to success after collecting a second place finish in category over 25 of the transmission.
Beyond the aesthetic that plays to his favor also the uvula is one of those educated to really, so much so that the route that led from Olly heats victory touched it consists of challenges with a high difficulty: the can not deface anything before the reinterpretation of classics unassailable, discographies taken by people like Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Beatles inevitable, the fact was a massive undertaking.
The obvious vocal talent but Murs is partially brought on the sidelines during the first original song, released as a single that heralds the debut album (which, apart from the release announced by next September, is still a big point of application): Please Do not Let Me Go speak.
The melody is soft, the text is safe and easy-going and the chorus fast setting, but it is difficult to remain fully convinced by this one pop-soul that travels on tracks, devoid of true personality: inside you can (re) feel Mraz, another former reality TV phenomenon by Will Young, Nutini, Morrison, and the list could become mileage.
