Madonna, the most popular singer of the decade
According to a study in the UK, Madonna turned out to be the singer’s most listened to in the last ten years, leaving behind the Beatles, Queen, Robbie Williams, among others.
The investigation, which brought together the 50 most popular singers, was conducted by the British company PPL copyright, based on what they heard on radio, television and public places like bars and shops, from 2000 to 2009.
Here are the ten most-listened artists of the last decade:
- Madonna
- The Beatles
- Robbie Williams
- Queen
- Take That
- Sugababes
- Elton John
- Elvis Presley
- Abba
- Coldplay
In addition to this list, PPL announced that the song ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’ by Procol Harums, the recording has been heard in the past 75 years, and ‘O Fortuna’ by Carl Orff, is a classical recording popular.
