Danger Mouse, Rome And The Westerns-Spaghetti

Danger Mouse reveals more about his project Rome. An album largely inspired by the music of Italian films and spaghetti westerns, and on which Norah Jones and Jack White have put their voices.

The very prolific DJ Danger Mouse has announced the imminent release of its draft Rome. Indeed, it would be in stores from March 2011. In this album, the DJ has appealed to the Italian composer Daniele Luppi (Sex and the City) and other artists sharing the same love for his music for Italian films, especially the spaghetti western. Among them, there is Norah Jones or Jack White, who raised their voices on six tracks of the album, with three titles each.

An epic pop album

The album Rome was recorded over the past five years, and after the DJ himself, he was inspired by the works of Ennio Morricone (who must be the soundtrack of most films Sergio Leone , particularly The Good, the Bad and the Ugly , or Once Upon a Time in the West ). However, by Daniele Luppi, the album is not thought to be the soundtrack to an imaginary movie, “is a pop album, a sort of small window on human life, it speaks of love, death, despair, joy, and interactions between man and woman.” Portions of Rome have been listening. And the least we can say is that the epic and cinematic soundtracks own the spaghetti western type is strongly felt.
